Uzbekistan and Envirol discussed construction of first waste-to-biofuel plant in Central Asia

On May 13, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with a delegation led by the CEO of Envirol from the UAE Elham Purtanghestani, the press service of the Ministry reports.

Envirol began its operations in Dubai in 2006. Envirol is a joint venture with the government of Dubai for the processing of waste oil with a daily capacity of more than 500 thousand liters. It is a subsidiary of the Alserkal Group.

The meeting discussed the prospects for the construction of the first plant in Central Asia for the processing of waste into biofuel in Uzbekistan.

Specific steps were identified for the successful and timely implementation of the project, and readiness to develop further long-term cooperation was confirmed.
