The working group from Uzbekistan, headed by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, is in the United Arab Emirates, the press service of the MIIT reported. During the first day of the visit, meetings and negotiations were held with the leadership of the Ministries of Economy and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE.
In particular, during the dialogue with the Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Tuk al-Marri, topical issues of expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, the implementation of joint projects were discussed.
The interest of new private companies in the UAE in entering the market of Uzbekistan was noted. In this context, the most promising are the chemical, mining and metallurgical and textile industries.
The possibility of participation of Emirati companies in the ongoing privatization processes in Uzbekistan was considered, bearing in mind the acquisition of the state share of companies specializing in the fields of tourism, chemistry, agriculture, construction and others.
The issue of organizing the 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a joint business forum in May of this year in Samarkand, was agreed.
During the dialogue with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil Mohammed al-Mazrui, topical issues of expanding bilateral investment cooperation in the spectrum of development of the energy sector and infrastructure of Uzbekistan were discussed.
The Emirati side emphasized that cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UAE is a practical example of an effective and successful bilateral partnership.
The negotiations that took place made it possible to present specific investment cases, outline further steps to expand bilateral cooperation and reflected the mutual desire of the parties to develop ties in a wide range of areas.
