A round table was held in Delhi, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Indian Importers, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev presented detailed information about the rich range of industrial and agricultural products produced in our country, the export and investment potential of the republic. Particular attention was paid to the dynamic development of bilateral trade and economic relations in recent years and the consistent work to fulfill the urgent task set by the leaders of the two states – increasing the volume of mutual trade to one billion dollars.
The newly appointed Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan Smita Pant called on representatives of the business community, including members of the Indian Importers Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to be active in strengthening bilateral relations and take advantage of the created favorable environment for conducting business and investment activities.
The conference discussed the results of the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum, held in the capital of Uzbekistan on May 2-3, the importance of the documents signed within its framework and the agreements reached.
“We made a five-day trip to Uzbekistan and took part in the Tashkent International Investment Forum”, – said Yash Pal Sachar, vice president for corporate affairs at Ashok Leyland. – In addition to participating in the forum, we visited the Uzavto Motors company and discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation. In addition, I got to know many of the sights of Tashkent and Uzbek cuisine. It made an unforgettable impression on me. Most importantly, we felt that there were great opportunities for mutual cooperation and realized that they needed to be exploited as soon as possible.
During the round table, an exchange of views also took place on issues of improving the transport and logistics system between Uzbekistan and India, and the prospects for promoting Uzbek products to the Indian market.
