At the international business conference in Delhi, the Embassy of Uzbekistan presented the investment and trade-economic potential of our country, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
The event, organized jointly with the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI), was attended by heads and representatives of the country’s leading small and medium-sized enterprises.
Ambassador Sardor Rustambayev spoke about the results of large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, joint projects implemented with representatives of business circles of foreign countries in various areas of the economy, an attractive environment created for their investment activities and the successful experience of Indian companies in our country.
Particular attention was paid to the significant potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, textile, silk, leather industry, information technology, healthcare, production of building materials, education, tourism and other areas.
The not yet fully utilized opportunities of trade and economic partnership were emphasized, in particular, the prospects for increasing the volume of exports of ecologically clean and original taste fruits, vegetables and dried fruits grown in Uzbekistan to the Indian market.
Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of the Global Council on Trade and Technology, focusing on the prospects of Uzbek-Indian trade and economic relations, called on Indian entrepreneurs to actively cooperate with Uzbekistan. Noting the high importance of the renewal process carried out in all spheres of the country’s life, she noted that the concept of “New Uzbekistan” has been formed in the international arena, the republic is acquiring a completely new look, and these changes are reflected both in large cities and in small towns in the regions.
During the event, the active participation of the Indian delegation in the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum and the essence of the bilateral agreements reached were also discussed.
As part of the business conference, negotiations were held with representatives of Indian companies on the implementation of new projects in Uzbekistan, attracting investment and increasing the volume of exports of products manufactured in our country.
