The trade, economic and educational potential of our country was presented at the international forum ‘‘Investor Day’’, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi and the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI), the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev told the participants about the results of the large-scale renewal process carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, high achievements in various sectors of the economy, as well as dynamically developing partnerships with representatives of business circles of various countries.
It was noted that as a result of consistent reforms, cooperation between Uzbekistan and foreign countries, including India, is strengthening, which is clearly manifested, in particular, in the growth of mutual trade volumes, achievements in the textile industry, information technology, pharmaceuticals, education, tourism and other areas.
The Chairman of the GTTCI Rashmi Saluja spoke about the favorable conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan and international cooperation in this area. She emphasized that the expansion of the number of joint ventures with the participation of Indian entrepreneurs in the country contributes to the development of mutual trade and economic ties.
The delegation of the Global Trade and Technology Council of India took an active part in the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum, held in June this year, and identified areas of mutually beneficial cooperation with various companies and institutions of our country.
In particular, GTTCI reached an agreement on the recruitment of students from India to the Andijan branch of Kokand University, starting from the new academic year. As part of the implementation of these plans, work has begun to attract 300 Indian boys and girls to this higher educational institution in the 2025/2026 academic year. Next year, it is planned to increase this figure to 8 thousand. Students will consolidate the theoretical knowledge they acquired in Uzbekistan in practice in one of the largest medical institutions in India – the hospital in the city of Gangaram.
The event also presented the production potential of the company ‘‘7 Saber’’ operating in our country, the high-quality and internationally competitive products manufactured here, as well as the geography of the enterprise’s exports.
Within the framework of the forum ‘‘Investor Day’’, negotiations were held with representatives of Indian companies dedicated to discussing issues of implementing new business projects in Uzbekistan, attracting investments and increasing the volume of exports of Uzbek products.
