Uzbek-Egyptian agricultural business forum was held in Cairo

An Uzbek-Egyptian agricultural business forum was held in Cairo, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

Entrepreneurs from the Kashkadarya region and Egypt took part in it. The delegation from the Kashkadarya region, which included representatives from the companies ‘‘Agro Gold Premium’’, ‘‘Kitob Yetti Khazina’’ and ‘‘Shakhrisabz Premium’’, was headed by the first deputy khokim of the region Ulugbek Uzokov. The Egyptian side was represented by the management of the Egyptian Center for Agricultural Research, the companies ‘‘EFC Plants Tissue Culture S.A.E.’’, ‘‘Daltex Corporation’’, ‘‘Ms Al Saad Group’’, ‘‘Nile Sugar’’, ‘‘Pharaoh for Agriculture and Investment0’’, ‘‘KHBC’’ and others.

The purpose of the event was to study Egypt’s experience in growing agricultural products, including potatoes and sugar beets, use this experience to grow high-quality seed potatoes in Uzbekistan, and attract investment in the agricultural sector.

The event included discussions and negotiations in the G2B and B2B formats.

Following the business forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between ‘‘EFC Plants and Agro Gold Premium’’ on growing high-yield seed potatoes.

As the next stage of cooperation, an agreement was reached on the implementation of a promising project involving the localization of a full cycle of seed potato production in Uzbekistan.

A delegation headed by Ahmed Al-Naggar, CEO of ‘‘Daltex Corporation’’, will also visit Uzbekistan in the near future to exchange experiences in the development of desert territories and new lands, the introduction of modern irrigation systems, growing agricultural products, and identifying prospects for further cooperation.
