Prospects for the implementation of Uzbek-Spanish economic projects were discussed in Madrid

A meeting with the President of the company ‘‘ACIR Southern Europe’’ Eduard Gulyan was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid, the correspondent of  ‘‘Dunyo’’news agency reports.

The parties discussed the results of the visit of the Spanish delegation to Uzbekistan, as well as the progress of joint projects. It was noted that this visit was an important stage in strengthening bilateral relations. Within its framework, more than 80 meetings were held and significant agreements were concluded.

In particular, the prospects for developing cooperation with ‘‘Tashkent Pharma Park’’ on localization of production and development of new technologies, as well as the implementation of the Spanish model ‘‘Alcobendas HUB’’, including partnership in the format of contract manufacturing and outsourcing, were discussed.

In Samarkand, contacts were established with local associations of artisans, jewelers, textile enterprises for further development of supplies of Uzbek products to European markets.

An agreement was reached on the introduction of modern technologies in food production, distribution channels for the export of Uzbek products to Europe were discussed.

In Bukhara, issues of implementing such major projects as the construction of an entertainment complex near the water and the modernization of pharmaceutical production were considered. Water purification projects based on concessions, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the PPP format, were considered with the regional division of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The parties emphasized the importance of promoting the above agreements, which will help open up new prospects for investment and the introduction of innovative technologies in key sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan.
