On December 11 this year, the first Uzbek-Croatian business forum was held at the International Business Center in Tashkent, marking another big step by the business circles of the two countries towards expanded trade, economic and investment cooperation, the press service of the MIIT reports. The delegations at the event were headed by: from the Uzbek side – the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, and from the Croatian side – the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Radman.
The forum was also attended by heads of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of Uzbek business and more than 50 Croatian companies, such as ‘‘Apiherbal Ltd’’, ‘‘Legio Nordica’’, ‘‘Osam Nula Tri’’, ‘‘Đuro Đaković Montaža-Izolak’’, ‘‘Matison’’, ‘‘Infobip’’, ‘‘Span d.d.’’, ‘‘Podravka’’ and others.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov emphasized the importance of enhancing interaction between business communities, expanding trade relations based on preferential access to European markets within the GSP+ system, and using all available opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the context of global digital transformation.
During the forum, the Croatian side was presented with the conditions created in Uzbekistan for comfortable activities of entrepreneurs, protection of their rights and interests, and the main aspects of the country’s investment and industrial potential. The wide opportunities created in the field of digital technology development, education, pharmaceutical production, food industry and agriculture were also presented.
The program also included B2B and B2G meetings, where participants were able to establish new, useful contacts, discuss details of joint implementation of promising mutually beneficial projects and trade agreements.
As experts noted, the business forum became an important platform for exchanging ideas and finding new areas of cooperation, and the agreements reached will form the basis for further deepening economic ties between Uzbekistan and Croatia.
