Leading Malaysian construction company explores opportunities for cooperation and investment in Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev met with the Managing Director of the Malaysian company “Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB)” Imran Salim, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

The director of the organization noted that MRCB, being one of the leading construction companies in Malaysia and a real estate developer, implements large-scale projects in the field of transport infrastructure, construction of residential complexes and business facilities on the basis of public-private partnership (PPP).

The Malaysian side expressed interest in exploring a wide range of opportunities for joint implementation of projects and investments in Uzbekistan, paying special attention to the introduction of innovative technologies to optimize water resources management and modernize water supply infrastructure, which is important for the sustainable development of the region, as well as the modernization of transport infrastructure.

The priority areas also include the development of agriculture, including increasing productivity, creating processing facilities and introducing innovative technologies such as “smart farming” to increase the yield and quality of agricultural products, as well as the development of renewable energy, including waste-to-energy projects and the construction of solar and wind power plants.

In addition, the possibility of participating in projects of the state assets privatization program is being considered, which will open up new prospects for cooperation in the field of real estate and infrastructure.

Based on the experience of implementing numerous public-private partnership projects in Malaysia, Imran Salim expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of MRCB’s participation in PPP projects in Uzbekistan.

Founded in 1968, MRCB is currently an active participant in the real estate, investment and engineering and construction services market. The company also provides services in the field of environmental protection, security and parking management. MRCB’s structure includes 70 subsidiaries, the total number of employees of which exceeds 1,500 people.
