Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank

On November 19, 2024, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Abdulaziz Khaydarov held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank, the information service of the Ministry reports. It was attended by World Bank urban planning specialists Roland White, Mohammed Nada and Ilyus Kamilov, as well as officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

During the meeting, the next steps for the preparation of the project that is being developed on the basis of the results-based financing program for local authorities were discussed. In this case, the preparation process includes three main assessments carried out by the World Bank: technical assessment, preliminary assessment, and environmental and social assessment.

Representatives of the World Bank announced that important steps have been taken to launch technical capabilities to accelerate the evaluation process, and that this process will require a certain period.

There was also an exchange of views on cooperation in the development of master plans for the regions based on the project “Comlex development of middle cities.”

In addition, the work carried out to comprehensively develop the regions, further increase the independence of local budgets, support entrepreneurship and create new jobs was considered.

At the same time, the parties discussed issues of further increasing the potential of the regions, supporting the implementation of infrastructure projects and achieving a number of institutional goals.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint research of the potential of the regions and further intensify consultations.
