Uzbekistan and Spain are establishing business ties, opening up new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation

From July 31 to August 1, a business delegation from Uzbekistan visited companies and enterprises in the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain, the correspondent of the ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

As a part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valencia, Vincent Morato, and the Director of the International Department, Luz Martinez.

The Spanish side was provided with information on the export potential, investment opportunities in the economy of Uzbekistan, and the favorable conditions created for foreign investors against the backdrop of the country’s stable economic growth.

Particular attention was paid to the development of the leather and ceramic industries of the republic, and the significant resources and potential of Uzbekistan in these industries were disclosed in detail, which opens up broad opportunities for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Spanish partners.

Noting the importance of developing trade relations, Luz Martinez expressed the Chamber’s readiness to assist in establishing direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries. It was emphasized that Valencian enterprises have a high level of technological equipment and can offer innovative solutions for Uzbek manufacturers.

In order to establish substantive cooperation, specific steps were discussed to organize business missions and fairs where companies from both countries will be able to present their products and establish direct business ties.

Also, during the visit to Spain, the delegation held meetings with the management of the ‘‘Tanned Group’’ and the Association of Footwear Manufacturers of the Valencian Community (AVECAL), and visited the ‘‘Industrias Del Curtido S.A.’’ (‘‘INCUSA’’) plant in Villena.

During the meetings, the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in leather production, the entry of Uzbek products into the Spanish market and pricing issues were discussed. As a result, the Spanish side expressed interest in long-term partnership and expressed its readiness to facilitate the dissemination of export offers of Uzbek companies among Spanish partners. Agreements were reached on organizing B2B negotiations within the framework of the international exhibition ‘‘Lineapelle Fall 2024’’ in Milan.
