A research center for the development of the digital economy will open in Tashkent

On December 17, 2019, in Sejong city (Republic of Korea), the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea on the establishment of a joint Center for Cooperation on e-government and the digital economy was held.

According to the signed document, the Korean side will provide $ 2 million free of charge for the development of the e-government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Korean side delegates three highly qualified employees in the field of e-government (hereinafter – EP) and digital economy (hereinafter – CE) to work at the Center for 3 years on an ongoing basis.

The official opening ceremony of the Center in Tashkent is scheduled for late January 2020.

It is noted that the newly created Center will provide expert support in the development of EP and CE based on Korean experience.
