Kuwait investment company is interested in implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan in the field of construction

Khokim of the Tashkent region Zoir Mirzaev and the rector of «Oriental University» Murodjon Akhmedov met with the head of the Kuwait company «Kuwait Investment Co.» Yusuf al-Ali, the correspondent of «Dunyo» news agency reports.

The head of the Kuwaiti company was in Tashkent as part of his participation in the III International Investment Forum, held on May 2-3.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti side was provided with information about the modern development of Uzbekistan, the ongoing liberalization of the economy and foreign trade, and the created investment and business climate.

The administration of the Tashkent region presented the potential of the region in the fields of heavy and light industry, construction, agriculture and mechanical engineering.

Head of «Kuwait Investment Co.» Yusuf al-Ali showed great interest in the development of the construction industry and expressed his readiness to cooperate and implement joint investment projects.

The parties agreed to create a working group to develop areas for further cooperation. The Kuwaiti side also invited a delegation of Uzbek businessmen led by the khokim of the Tashkent region to visit Kuwait.

During negotiations with the management of «Oriental University», an exchange of views took place on issues of educational development, areas of mutually beneficial cooperation and promising investment projects.

Preliminary agreements have been reached on a number of specific areas.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations within the framework of the Uzbek-Kuwaiti business forum, which will be held in Kuwait City on May 13-14.
