Uzbekistan and Poland have agreed to expand economic cooperation

Uzbek diplomats met with Michal Jaros, State Secretary at Poland’s Ministry of Development and Technology and Co-Chair of the Uzbek-Polish Intergovernmental Commission, the correspondent of the Dunyo news agency reports.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for bringing bilateral trade and economic, industrial and investment ties to a new level.

The Polish side noted that Uzbekistan is one of Poland’s most important and strategic partners in Central Asia. The participants also positively assessed the current state of economic relations and noted growing interest among major Polish companies and entrepreneurs in the Uzbek market.

Particular attention was paid to prospects for joint investment projects in strategic areas, including mining, the extraction of rare metals and critical raw materials, energy, environmental protection and water management.

The sides also agreed to work on improving transport and logistics infrastructure, simplifying technical and administrative procedures related to labor migration and mutual trade, and supporting direct trade links between enterprises of the two countries.

As part of further expanding cooperation, the upcoming visit to Uzbekistan in November of a business mission headed by Michal Jaros was discussed. The delegation will include representatives of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and major companies.

The sides also considered the possibility of opening a PAIH representative office in Uzbekistan, holding the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Warsaw in 2027, and organizing a major joint business forum bringing together Polish and Uzbek entrepreneurs.
