Uzbekistan’s Consul General, Akhror Burkhanov, met with Beto Yarce, Director of Seattle’s Office of Economic Development, the correspondent of Dunyo news agency reports.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of trade and investment, the exchange of professional expertise between Tashkent and Seattle, and opportunities for cooperation between companies.

One proposal was to hold an Uzbekistan–Seattle business forum in Seattle. The event is expected to showcase Uzbekistan’s investment and export potential, facilitate B2B meetings, and provide an opportunity to discuss specific trade and investment projects.

Particular attention was paid to companies operating in technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, clean energy, aerospace, and logistics. Seattle’s Office of Economic Development could assist in attracting businesses interested in participating in the forum.

The sides also discussed the planned visit of the Tashkent mayor to Seattle. The program is expected to include meetings with city officials, business representatives, the Seattle Office of Economic Development, and Greater Seattle Partners.

Cooperation between startups was another area of focus. The sides are exploring ways to connect Uzbek companies and startups with Seattle-based accelerators, incubators, and investors, as well as to establish an entrepreneurship exchange program between Tashkent and Seattle.

The meeting also addressed the development of logistics and air cargo transportation, including the shipment of products in both directions and cooperation with airlines and logistics operators.
