Issues of further development of cooperation between free economic zones of Uzbekistan and Malaysia were discussed

With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, negotiations were held between the leadership of the Port Klang Free Economic Zone (PKFZ) of Malaysia and representatives of the JSC Directorate of the Navoi Free Economic Zone, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

During the dialogue, the Malaysian side was informed about the activities of free economic zones in Uzbekistan, the business environment in our country, the opportunities and privileges created for foreign investors, as well as the measures of the head of our state to designate the Navoi region as a free economic zone for innovative, high-tech, export-oriented and import-substituting productions.

In recent years, the foreign side has appreciated the growing share of high value-added products produced by the participants of the free economic zone based on high technologies in the national economy of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, opportunities for developing cooperation and exchanging experience between the free economic zones of Malaysia and Uzbekistan were discussed.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the development of mutual trips for the management of economic zones, the organization of training internships for their employees, and the exchange of mutual information.

Representatives of the FEZ “Navoi” also got acquainted with the activities of manufacturing enterprises on the territory of PKFZ.
