Investment and tourism potential of Surkhandarya region was presented in Japan

In Tokyo, during the visit to Japan of the delegation of the Surkhandarya region, headed by the first deputy khokim Anvar Oripov, a seminar was held on the topic “Investment, trade and tourism potential of the Surkhandarya region”, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The event was attended by about 20 executives and representatives of leading Japanese investment, trade and tourism companies.

At the beginning of the event, information is provided on the socio-economic development of the region, large-scale reforms implemented in recent years in the country, including the conditions created to attract foreign investment and foreign tourists, existing benefits and investment proposals, types of products imported to this region.

At the meeting, Japanese companies were invited to jointly implement mutually beneficial projects for the localization of these products in free economic zones.

The Japanese side was informed in detail about the goals of organizing the Termez International Trade Center, the conditions and preferences created.

During the event, special attention was paid to tourism, which is one of the leading industries in the Surkhandarya region. Representatives of the leading travel companies of Japan, who took part in this event, were informed about the rich tourism potential of the region, culture, historical monuments, monasteries of Buddhism and national dishes of Uzbek cuisine.

In particular, in order to intensify cooperation with the Japanese side in the field of Buddhist pilgrimage tourism, an agreement was reached on the visit of representatives of travel companies to Surkhandarya region during the current year.

After that, representatives of Japanese companies asked a number of questions and expressed their interest in implementing projects for the production of energy (solar batteries), agriculture, food industry, textiles, medical equipment in the Surkhandarya region.

As a result of the seminar, a number of Japanese companies planned to visit the Surkhandarya region to discuss the implementation of joint projects.
