Air Products will invest $10 billion in high-tech projects in Uzbekistan

The next point of the business program of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to New York City was a meeting with the chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Air Products, Seifi Ghasemi, rthe press service of the head of our state reports.

The meeting was also attended by US Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Geoffrey Pyatt.

Issues of further expansion of the strategic partnership with a leading American company, the progress of implementation of current projects and specific plans for the future were discussed.

Currently, Air Products is implementing projects in our country for the processing of industrial gases at Uzbekistan GTL, the production of synthesis gas, oxygen and nitrogen, and the production of liquefied carbon dioxide at the Navoiazot base.

Over the past two years, direct investments from the company amounting to over $1 billion have been attracted to the development of these projects.

During the conversation, promising projects for coal gasification, production of technical gases, hydrogen and ammonium, as well as utilization of acid gases were discussed.

Air Products experts will also take part in developing the necessary regulatory framework in the field of decarbonization.

In addition, the portfolio of projects includes the introduction of innovative developments in the food industry.

At the end of the meeting, agreements were exchanged on the implementation of a new investment program for Air Products in Uzbekistan worth over $10 billion.

For his contribution to the expansion of Uzbek-American multifaceted cooperation and support of irreversible reforms in our country, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally presented the Chairman of the Board of Air Products, Seifi Ghasemi, with a high state award – the Order of Dustlik.
