Belarus is interested in the supply of peat substrates to Uzbekistan

Prospects for the implementation of joint projects were considered during the visit of a delegation of the state production association Beltopgaz, headed by Deputy General Director of the State Production Association Valery Kovalev, to Tashkent, where negotiations were held with the leadership of the State Forestry Committee of Uzbekistan. The visit took place from 25 to 28 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

The possibilities of organizing the supply of Belarusian peat substrates to the forestry industries of Uzbekistan for further use as a basis for growing seedlings of forest plantations are considered. Peat plants in Belarus have good experience in the production of soil for planting seeds and growing tree seedlings for forestry organizations and are ready to export these products to the Uzbek market.

The parties expressed mutual interest in a mutually beneficial partnership. In the near future, the logistics of deliveries and the terms of interaction will be worked out.

Organizations of the peat industry of the State Production Association “Beltopgaz” supply both fuel peat and non-fuel peat products to foreign markets. In 2021, exports increased by 27.3% compared to 2020 and amounted to 200.4 thousand tons. Peat was supplied to 24 countries.
