Belgian companies are interested in building up the transit potential of Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilyor Khakimov met with the leadership of the Belgian company “Camco Technologies”, which specializes in the production of automated systems for logistics terminals and customs posts, “Dunyo” news agency correspondent reports.

“Camco Technologies” is a privately held Belgian company established in 1999 that develops and supplies visual terminal, gate and crane automation systems, as well as solutions for marine and rail terminals.

During the meeting, “Camco Technologies” Development Director Werner Pieters made a presentation on the company’s activities. Regarding the transit potential of Uzbekistan, he noted a significant increase in the flow of goods between Europe and Asia through the so-called “middle corridor”, which passes through the territory of the countries of Central Asia.

In this regard, today there is a need to create a unified digital system for controlling transit cargo at state border crossing points in all countries along the route.

The Belgian company, together with the Irish “CrossborderXP”, proposes to introduce in the countries of the region the “Automated Cross-border Trade and Settlement Integrated System” (ATTIS) platform – software for trade and logistics, which is designed to digitalize processes, connecting terminals and logistics hubs along the entire railway corridor from China to Europe.

The introduction of a single logistics platform is expected to allow intermodal terminals and logistics service providers in different countries of the “middle corridor” to carry out complex transactions in accordance with customs and national requirements and manage operations in a common centralized database, which will significantly speed up the process of transporting goods along the specified route and increase the transit potential of the countries of Central Asia.

Representatives of “Camco Technologies” expressed their readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future to establish cooperation and exchange experience with Uzbek partners.
