In the city of Tianjin, guests from Uzbekistan held negotiations with local officials and representatives of the business community. They discussed the expansion of interregional G2B and B2B connections and the prospects for joint projects.
The first point of the program was a visit to the science and technology park of Tianjin University. Here the delegation met with Chinese entrepreneurs to discuss the development of cooperation programs.
The topic of using Chinese experience in managing free economic, small and youth industrial zones was also touched upon. The parties talked about attracting foreign companies to them.
At the meeting, agreements worth $27 million were signed. These included a project for the production of dietary supplements in Gulistan, as well as the organization in Yangier of the production of infant formula and other nutritious products.
The Syrdarya region is among the regions that are most actively developing cooperation with the PRC. In April, Shavkat Mirziyoyev declared the region a zone of “advanced innovation” and announced a number of joint projects with Chinese business.
The president, among other things, put forward an initiative to create an Uzbek-Chinese automobile plant in the region, saying that this would help reduce car prices. In addition, CITIC Group plans to build an agrilogistics complex in the Khavast district.
In October, the khokim of the region, Akmaljon Makhmudaliev, discussed with the director of the technology park at Tianjin University, Bovi Zhang, plans to create a subsidiary technology park. Its cost was estimated at $50 million.
