Since July 24 of this year, a business mission led by representatives of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade has been visiting EU countries, the PR center of the Ministry reports.
In particular, on July 25 of this year, the delegation took part in the ‘‘Exposição Tecnológica’’ exhibition in the city of Alcanena in Portugal.
At the meeting with the organizers of the event – the management of the Technological Center of the Leather Industry and the Association of the Leather Industry of Portugal – issues of trade development, support for the private sector and increasing the competitiveness of products exported by Uzbekistan were discussed.
In addition, the delegation held a number of meetings with representatives of Portuguese companies such as ‘‘CTIC’’, ‘‘Aquitex’’, ‘‘CEPSA’’, ‘‘Alidata’’, ‘‘Mapril ION Exchange’’, ‘‘VentilAQUA’’, ‘‘Desotec’’ and ‘‘José maria & filhos’’.
The possibility of applying the experience of Portuguese companies in the areas of introducing new production technologies and processes for cleaning and recycling waste water at tanneries was considered in Uzbekistan. The foreign side expressed interest in selling products of Uzbek manufacturers in the European markets.
On July 27-28, meetings were held in Italy with representatives of ‘‘Confidustria Toscana Sud’’, ‘‘Vittoria Makina’’, ‘‘Pratica’’, ‘‘Alpe S.P.A’’ and several others.
During the negotiations, the production potential of Uzbekistan was presented, and the possibility of expanding industrial cooperation was considered, including establishing the production of goods under Italian brands not only in the leather industry, but also in other sectors. Particular attention was paid to the issue of introducing technologies for deep processing of leather waste at Uzbek enterprises in cooperation with Italian enterprises.
Following the visit, an agreement was reached to open a trading house in the Italian city of Prato jointly with the ‘‘Peng Sheng Charm’’ company.
Currently, the Uzbek delegation continues its mission in Spain.
