Bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have been raised to the level of alliance

Following the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held, the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the Treaty on Allied Relations and adopted the Decision of the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.

The following documents were signed in the presence of the heads of state:

– Intergovernmental agreement on labor activity and protection of citizens’ rights;

– Cooperation program between the ministries of foreign affairs for 2025-2026;

– Practical action plan for further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation;

– Protocols on cooperation in pre-school, vocational, secondary specialized, higher education and science;

– Roadmap for cultural and humanitarian cooperation for 2024-2026;

– Action plan in the field of tourism for 2024-2026;

– The cooperation program between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024–2026;

– The protocol on cooperation between the Center for Advanced Studies of Lawyers under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Academy of Justice of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

– The agreement on cooperation between the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

– The protocol on cooperation between forensic examination centers.

During the visit, cooperation agreements were also concluded between the cities of Tashkent and Baku, Shakhrisabz and Beylagan, Jizzakh and Guba, and other bilateral documents.
