On December 6, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the chief executive officer of Voltalia (France) Sebastian Clerc, the PR center of the MIIT reports.
During the meeting, the French side was familiarized in detail with the progress of structural reforms, modernization and diversification of the energy sector of Uzbekistan – the created regulatory framework for accelerating the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy, the adopted Program for the transition to a green economy and ensuring green growth in republic until 2030. The country’s solar energy potential is equivalent to 51 billion tons of oil, and wind energy is equivalent to 360 million tons of oil.
The progress in implementing current agreements and further steps to strengthen cooperation in the development of alternative energy sources were discussed. Today the company is working on a number of projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants, as well as generating capacities in the regions of Uzbekistan. They expressed their readiness to provide full support to the company, both in the implementation of current projects and as part of the further expansion of its presence in our country.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intentions to strengthen the partnership and determined the format of interaction for the accelerated implementation of existing agreements.
