The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan visited Hungary

On March 27-28, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by acting. Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Hungary. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Economic Development, Marton Nagy, the Chairman of the Board of the largest Hungarian OTP bank, Sandor Czanyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Gedeon Richter, Gabor Orban, as well as with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

The talks discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral ties and interaction within the framework of multilateral structures, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres. The course of implementation of the agreements reached in the course of contacts at the highest and high levels was considered. An exchange of views took place on the schedule of upcoming joint events.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan took part in the opening of a business forum, organized jointly with the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, with the participation of about 100 entrepreneurs representing more than 60 leading companies of the two countries.

The delegation of Uzbekistan also visited the free economic zone of Budapest and got acquainted with the created business environment.

The most important part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Hungary was the opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest. The opening ceremony was attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries, representatives of the Government, public and business circles of Hungary, as well as the media. It was noted that the opening of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in the capital of Hungary will make it possible to qualitatively implement the tasks set by the leaders of the two states to expand mutually beneficial partnership, and will also serve to enrich the agenda with new practical content.
