Khiva declared the Tourism Capital of the Islamic World in 2024

Khiva has been declared the Tourism Capital of the Islamic World in 2024.

The relevant decision was made at the 11th session of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku.

As a result of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and as a recognition of the work carried out in our country to develop tourism, preserve historical monuments, improve shrines, study and promote the spiritual heritage of their ancestors, Khiva’s application defeated the candidacies of Abu Dhabi (UAE), Shanliurfa (Turkey), Lagos ( Nigeria) and Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
