The Singapore-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), one of the oldest business associations in the city-state with more than 5,000 members, held a presentation of Uzbekistan’s investment potential, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

The event, organized by the Embassy of our country in Singapore in cooperation with SICCI, brought together representatives of leading Singaporean companies operating in the mining, food and chemical industries, information technology, banking, tourism and logistics.

Uzbek diplomats informed the audience in detail about the large-scale reforms being carried out in our republic, the favorable investment climate created here, as well as the especially favorable conditions provided for organizing business in the existing free economic and industrial zones in all regions of the country.

The Singaporean businessmen who took part in the event showed great interest in the possibilities of cooperation with Uzbekistan. They were interested in many practical aspects of organizing a business in our country, from the procedures for registering an enterprise to the possibilities of exporting finished products manufactured in Uzbekistan to third-country markets. The embassy diplomats provided comprehensive information on all the questions asked, supported by relevant links to the current legislation of Uzbekistan, as well as statistical and marketing data.

Following the event, which aroused increased interest among representatives of Singapore’s business community, the SICCI management announced its intention to organize a business mission to Uzbekistan in the near future in order to familiarize itself with the possibilities of cooperation and establish direct contacts with potential Uzbek partners.
