A company from the UAE will help build a water treatment plant in the Tashkent region

Uzbekistan has attracted Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company from the UAE to design a new water treatment complex in the Tashkent region, the press service of the MIFT reports.

The agreement between the company from Abu Dhabi and Uzsuvtaminot was signed on November 2. The ceremony was attended by ADSSC Executive Director Ahmad al-Shamsi and Deputy Investment Minister Laziz Kudratov.

It is noted that the new water treatment complex will be the largest in Tashkent. Its commissioning will unload other treatment facilities, increase the efficiency of water treatment and the quality of drinking water for residents of the capital.

ADSSC will study the basic requirements to determine the configuration and key project parameters. In the future, the parties will agree on the terms of financing, construction and operation of the complex.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has been inviting foreign investors, among others, in the field of water supply and sanitation. So, at the end of 2021, the British Metito Utilities won a tender for the construction of treatment facilities in Namangan.

“Uzsuvtaminot” signed an agreement with the Uzbek-Turkish Alkataş İnşaat ve Taahhüt in August to modernize the Chirchik water treatment system. The contract amount is $22.2 million from the loan of the Asian Development Bank.
