Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed issues of implementing agreements at the highest level

As part of the program of events of the working visit to the city of Baku, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the press service of the head of our state reports.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state sincerely congratulated the leader of Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the UN Climate Summit (COP29).

The current issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship and alliance were discussed in the context of the agreements reached at the highest level in August of this year.

The current highest level of cooperation in the Year of intensive development of multifaceted relations between the two countries was noted with satisfaction.

The volume of trade turnover is growing, cooperation projects are successfully implemented in the automotive industry, textile, electrical engineering, agriculture, construction industry and urban development, and other areas.

The importance of further expanding the portfolio of projects, including with the involvement of funds from the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.

The issues of expanding practical cooperation aimed at assisting the economic development of Afghanistan were also discussed.

Special attention was paid to continuing active cultural, humanitarian and interregional exchanges, as well as preparing a rich program of events as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.

The meeting also included a ceremony to launch a joint sewing factory in the city of Khankendi.
