The leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar discussed further expansion of their strategic partnership

As part of his working visit to Doha, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The two discussed deepening Uzbek-Qatari strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted practical cooperation.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of state sincerely congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the successful holding of the Second World Summit for Social Development.

The productive contacts and exchanges at various levels were noted with deep satisfaction. Trade turnover has increased by 45 percent since the beginning of the year. Major investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Qatari companies. Interparliamentary, cultural, and humanitarian ties are developing.

Particular attention was paid to promoting cooperation projects in green energy, transport, geology, textiles, tourism, infrastructure development, and other areas.

An exchange of views on current issues on the international and regional agenda also took place.
