As a part of the first day of the program of stay in the city of Kazan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
They discussed in detail current issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.
The leaders of the two states emphasized the importance of increasing multifaceted cooperation in the political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The presidents spoke in favor of continuing intensive contacts and fruitful exchanges.
Particular attention was paid to the promotion of cooperation projects in the field of geology and extraction of mineral resources, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, healthcare, education and other industries.
The need for regular joint cultural and humanitarian events was noted.
The leaders also exchanged views on important aspects of the international and regional agenda.
