A meeting between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took place in a private format at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, the press service of the head of our state reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, the two heads of state warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, which is celebrated by the entire Muslim community.
The parties discussed the further expansion of Uzbek-Turkish relations as a comprehensive strategic partnership, particularly in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The current high dynamics and active dialogue at all levels were noted with satisfaction. The parties welcomed the fruitful results of the recent meeting of the strategic planning group in the “4+4” format.
The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of flights between the countries are steadily increasing. Joint cultural events are held regularly.
The need to advance projects and programs in industry, agriculture, social protection, and other priority areas was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation and coordination in defense and security, and combating cybercrime.
The leaders also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues.
