On October 27, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Dr. Ali A. Houshmand, President of one of the leading U.S. universities – Rowan University, the press service of the Ministry reports.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of education, science, and innovation, including the development of the Rowan University Center, operating on the basis of Nordic International University in Tashkent.
Within the framework of the current 1+3 bachelor’s and 1+1 master’s programs, students from Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries have the opportunity to study both in Tashkent and in the United States, earning an American-style diploma in engineering, IT, medicine, and business administration.
The sides also discussed plans to introduce a cooperative education model, which combines academic studies with on-the-job training, promoting youth employment and the preparation of highly qualified professionals.
The parties expressed readiness to further develop student entrepreneurship and the commercialization of innovations, expanding the application of advanced American experience in Uzbekistan.
