The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held talks with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation

On September 9 this year, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, who arrived in Tashkent as part of the visit of the Russian delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry reports.

At the meeting, held in the building of the Tashkent State University of Economics, the parties discussed the possibilities of accelerating the pace of development of bilateral trade and economic relations, expanding the scale of investment and interregional cooperation.

It was noted that in the first half of the year, trade turnover with Russia increased by 29% compared to the same period of the previous year, mainly due to exports. Over 3 thousand enterprises with the participation of Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan. According to the results of 2023, cargo transportation increased by an average of 35% by road and rail, significant growth is also observed in air transportation.

The progress of the implementation of existing agreements was reviewed, bearing in mind the implementation of investment agreements and projects reached during visits at the highest and high levels.

Particular attention was paid to organizational measures for the establishment of a branch of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Tashkent and the organization of the work of the Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives. Having discussed practical aspects in detail, Laziz Kudratov and Maxim Reshetnikov, accompanied by the rector of TSUE Tulkin Teshabaev, toured the university and got acquainted with the conditions created for the implementation of the project.
