On 23 January, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Sultan Al-Marshad, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development, during which the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation were discussed, the press service of the MIIT reports.
Over the years of partnership, the Fund has provided financing for projects in the fields of healthcare, education, water supply and irrigation, housing construction, as well as transport infrastructure of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At present, the portfolio of joint projects includes 11 projects with a total value of USD 287.4 million. In addition, two priority projects are currently under consideration: “Construction of Affordable Housing in the Republic of Karakalpakstan” and “Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Damaged Bridges on National Roads,” with a combined value of USD 138 million.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further deepening the partnership, implementing socially significant initiatives, and expanding cooperation in priority sectors in line with the country’s national development priorities.
