The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade met with Chief Executive Officer of Habib Rafiq Ltd

On 27 January, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, met with Malik Muhammad Aslam, Chief Executive Officer of Habib Rafiq Ltd, the press service of the MIIT reports.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding Uzbekistan–Pakistan investment cooperation, including infrastructure development, smart city initiatives, and projects in the mining and processing sectors. Particular attention was given to copper beneficiation, strategic mineral extraction and processing, and the introduction of advanced engineering solutions and modern technologies.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and Habib Rafiq Engineering (Private) Limited. The document outlines cooperation in smart city development, modern infrastructure projects and investment attraction.

The signing confirmed both sides’ readiness to implement long-term joint projects.

Habib Rafiq Ltd is a major Pakistani engineering and construction group with a 70-year history. The company has delivered Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City, contributed to Islamabad International Airport and green energy projects, and, in partnership with Geely, launched electric vehicle manufacturing. It employs around 8,000 people and generates annual revenue of USD 600 million, with headquarters in Lahore.
