Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held a meeting with President of KOICA

On September 9 this year, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Chang Won Sam, President of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the press service of the Ministry reports.

During the meeting, the parties noted the positive dynamics of development of multifaceted cooperation with the Republic of Korea, which is one of the major foreign policy and foreign economic partners of Uzbekistan.

The sides stressed KOICA’s contribution to the development of education, public administration, medicine, digitalization of Uzbekistan, where more than 40 projects and programs worth more than $250 million have been implemented.

At the same time, the sides agreed on specific directions for further enhancing cooperation, including joint events in the country’s regions, implementation of infrastructure and socially significant regional development projects, as well as attracting consulting and technical assistance for projects to improve export and investment policy management mechanisms in Uzbekistan.

After the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and KOICA, which includes 29 promising projects with a total value of $300 million in the areas of digitalization of public administration, combating climate change and development of education.
