Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Uzbekistan

On October 28, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Zulkifli bin Baharudin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Uzbekistan, the press service of the MIIT reports.


During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state and promising directions for the development of trade and economic relations between the countries.

Over the past seven years, trade has doubled, and the volume of Singapore investments has reached almost $1 billion. From January to September of this year, mutual trade between our countries increased by another 6%, and $312 million was allocated for the implementation of new projects. 102 enterprises with Singapore investments are successfully operating in Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed mutual confidence that the potential for bilateral cooperation has not been fully utilized, and there are a number of promising areas for the development of interaction.

In a separate order, the process of implementing investment agreements worth $3.9 billion reached during high-level visits was analyzed. Mutual measures were agreed to intensify efforts in order to fully and timely implement the agreements reached.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize negotiations with major Singaporean companies to work together in the fields of infrastructure development, smart agriculture, IT, electrical engineering, healthcare, as well as to hold a business forum in Singapore in December this year.
