Construction of a new airfield complex at “Andijan” Airport has begun

The first stage of construction of a new airfield complex has begun at Andijan International Airport, the press service of “UZBEKISTAN AIRPORTS” reports.

As part of the reconstruction, the construction of a new airfield complex is envisaged, including a runway 3,400 meters long and 60 meters wide, taxiways, and an apron with seven parking spaces for aircraft. Also, modern lighting equipment of the second ICAO category (CAT-II) will be installed at the airfield complex, which will allow receiving/departing all types of aircraft at night and in difficult weather conditions.

The existing airport runway, 2985 meters long and 44 meters wide, had limitations on receiving many types of aircraft due to the low load-bearing capacity of the pavement, and also due to the lack of a modern lighting system, restrictions on receiving aircraft at night.

The project will be implemented in the period 2023-2024.

The implementation of the project contributes to the development of tourism and improvement of the investment climate in the region.
