On August 29 this year, negotiations were held in the format of the videoconferencing between the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suheil Mohammed Al Mazrui, the press service of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reports.
During the talks, a wide range of issues of investment cooperation between the two countries, as well as practical aspects of interaction in key areas of strategic partnership and implementation of joint projects were discussed.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamically developing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, as well as in the direction of traditional and alternative energy, logistics, healthcare, agriculture and tourism.
During the talks, prospects for the development of cooperation in the investment sphere were discussed. As noted, today the joint investment portfolio consists of 17 projects worth about 3 billion USD.
The results of the activities of the joint Uzbek-Emirati investment company, with an announced capital of 1 billion USD, which has mastered more than $100 million to date, were highly appreciated. TPP, in this context, the terms of preparation for the signing of legal agreements in Tashkent were discussed.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue a constructive exchange of views in order to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
