On July 1, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov made a working trip to the Hungarian region of Borsod-Abauz-Zemplén, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
Within its framework, negotiations were held with the chairman of the county government Boglarka Banne Gal, the vice-rector of the University of Miskolcs Peter Such, as well as the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the region Laszlo Kis.
At the meetings, key aspects of bilateral cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Hungary were discussed. Particular attention was paid to issues of investment interaction, as well as cooperation in other areas of mutual interest, including tourism, education and scientific research. They expressed readiness to consider the issue of erecting monuments to the great scientists and thinkers of the two peoples in the regions.
As part of the negotiations at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a presentation of the trade and economic potential of our country was organized for business circles in the region, prospects for expanding investment and commercial ties between the regions of Uzbekistan and Borsod-Abauz-Zemplen were discussed.
As a result of the trip, agreements were reached on establishing interregional cooperation, in particular between the Fergana region and Borsod-Abauz-Zemplén, as well as the implementation of promising projects in the field of agriculture and the chemical industry.
