Issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the field of transport and logistics were discussed

A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with representatives of the Pakistani transport and logistics company TCS, headed by the chairman of the board of the company, Khalid Ahwan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between entrepreneurs of Pakistan and Uzbekistan, and also noted the importance of expanding joint cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, especially the need to create international transport corridors for organizing freight traffic from Uzbekistan through Pakistan with access to to seaports in the Indian Ocean.

Today, Uzbekistan and Pakistan can significantly increase the volume of mutual trade in demanded goods. At the same time, Uzbekistan can supply a wide range of goods to Pakistan, such as agricultural products, food products, cable-wire and electrical products, plastic products, medical products, chemical products, as well as modern machinery and equipment.

At the same time, Pakistan is a leading exporter of agricultural products, including fruits and vegetables, industrial products, textile, chemical, pharmaceutical, leather and footwear products, as well as building materials.

The development of international transport corridors connecting the countries of Central Asia with the region of South Asia will provide great opportunities for increasing international trade flows to foreign markets located in the regions of Europe, Africa and Asia.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint interaction to enhance cooperation in the transport and logistics sector.
