A wide range of issues on the development and further expansion of trade and economic cooperation with the regions of Russia were discussed

Consul General of Uzbekistan Aslam Akbarov met in Novosibirsk with the President of the city Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Yuri Bernadsky, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

A wide range of issues of development and further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan, Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region, promising areas of cooperation were discussed.

Significant results of economic partnership with Uzbekistan were noted, in particular, the activities of 60 joint Russian-Uzbek enterprises in this region of Russia, participation of the Novosibirsk region delegation in the International Industrial Exhibition ‘‘Innoprom. Central Asia’’ in April 2024, the opening of a production site of the Zdravmedtech company in the ‘‘Chirchik’’ technozone, and others.

It was emphasized that there is great potential for the development of trade and industrial cooperation on the basis of free economic zones (FEZ) created in Uzbekistan. This factor contributes not only to the definition of mutually beneficial aspects of bilateral industrial cooperation, but also to the formation of a specific list of products that are in the greatest demand both in Uzbekistan and Russia.

The Russian side expressed interest in establishing direct business contacts with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The head of the Novosibirsk CCI emphasized that for this region of Russia, supplies of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan play an important role. It was noted that this issue will be resolved during the bilateral forum planned for this fall in Novosibirsk.
