A roundtable discussion was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade with the participation of more than 20 business representatives of the Turkish business community

On March 13, a roundtable discussion was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, with the participation of more than 20 business representatives of the Republic of Turkey, the press service of the MIIT reports.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues arising in the course of the activities of Turkish investors in Uzbekistan and to develop practical solutions to promptly resolve them.

The event was attended by leaders and representatives of such large Turkish companies as Anadolu, Albayrak, Ziraat Bank, Cengiz, Çalık, Aksa, Eczacıbaşı Esan, OSTIM and Nobel. It is noted that such an open dialogue format between the state and business is used only in some countries of the world.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the practical activities of Turkish companies, including product labeling, accounts receivable, provision of infrastructure and regulation of labor relations, were discussed and measures were determined.

Turkish entrepreneurs also made proposals on the development of banking and finance, construction, energy, personnel training, pharmaceuticals and industrial zones.

At the end of the meeting, responsible persons were identified for the prompt resolution of the issues raised and relevant instructions were given.

Trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is developing rapidly. Over the past five years, the volume of mutual trade has increased from $2.5 billion in 2020 to $3 billion. The number of joint ventures has increased by 3.5 times, reaching 2,149 from 613 in 2020. The volume of absorption of Turkish investments has increased by 4.5 times, reaching $3.1 billion in 2025. About 100 flights are operated between the two countries per week.

Currently, a number of projects worth a total of nearly $10 billion are being implemented with Turkish investment in energy, geology, construction materials production, agriculture, healthcare, and other sectors.
