Contracts were signed with Spanish and Japanese companies for the construction of another two combined cycle plants with a total capacity of at least 900 MW at the Talimarjan TPP

JSC “Thermal Power Plants” is implementing another investment project to introduce modern, highly efficient and energy-saving technologies in the field of electricity generation.

The investment project will be implemented at Talimarjan TPP. Here, by 2025, two more combined-cycle plants with a total capacity of at least 900 MW will be built, and INTECSA Ingeniera Industrial S.A. (Italy) and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) will be the general contractor for the project.

JSC “Thermal Power Plants” hosted the ceremony of signing an agreement between JSC “Talimarjan TPP” and INTECSA Ingeniera Industrial S.A. and Mitsubishi Corporation. This project will be implemented at the expense of concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank.

The new investment project is aimed at reliable supply of electricity to consumers in Samarkand and Bukhara regions, seven pumping stations on the Karshi main canal and many other settlements.

As a result of the increase in generating capacity, the Talimarjan TPP will additionally generate 7.2 billion kWh of electricity per year. At the same time, due to the use of highly economical technologies, 520 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved.

The amount of emissions of CO2 and pollutants into the environment will be reduced by 1500 tons per year.
