The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Mamajonov met with Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky, according to the report of the correspondent of Dunyo News Agency.
During the meeting, the parties discussed measures to accelerate customs clearance procedures in order to double bilateral trade turnover and reduce cargo delays at border crossings under the current sanctions restrictions.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of further digitalizing customs procedures and transitioning to automated data exchange in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Belarus and the Government of Uzbekistan on the Mutual Recognition of Electronic Systems for Certification of the Origin of Goods.
The parties also discussed the organization of joint work at customs posts in Belarus and the prompt resolution of emerging issues. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to expedite the review and execution of requests submitted by the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
