The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan received the Director General of the Rosatom Corporation

On January 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, the press service of the head of our state reports.

The parties discussed practical aspects of the project to build an integrated nuclear power plant in our country, as well as expanding cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the first low-power reactor building began last October, and work on the power plant design continues.

An advanced engineering school for nuclear energy and nuclear technology was launched last December at the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

Particular attention was also paid to developing cooperation in the application of nuclear technology in agriculture and medicine, training qualified personnel in the industry, advancing science, and implementing social projects.
