The President of Uzbekistan outlined priority areas of cooperation with the US Eximbank

On November 6, as part of his working visit to Washington, D.C., President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received John Yovanovitch, head of the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Eximbank is the official export credit agency of the U.S. Government, supporting the development of foreign economic activity by American companies and providing insurance, guarantees, and credit instruments.

Prospects for expanding cooperation with this reputable institution in financing major projects in energy, critical minerals, transportation, agriculture, IT, and other priority areas were discussed, based on a prepared joint program.

Special attention was paid to Eximbank’s participation in the modernization of the national aircraft fleet and the supply of ‘‘Boeing’’ aircraft. An agreement was reached to continue practical cooperation and develop a long-term partnership plan.

Following the meeting, in the presence of the head of state, an Agreement on the Financing of Joint Projects was exchanged between the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Eximbank.
