The President of Uzbekistan outlined priorities for cooperation with American financial institutions

Continuing the business program of his visit to Washington, D.C., President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received John Yovanovitch, President and Chairman of the Eximbank, and Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the press service of the head of our state reports.

It was noted that talks with President Donald Trump last year provided a powerful impetus to expanding trade and investment cooperation with American businesses.

Particular attention was paid to supporting the activities of the Business Council and launching an Investment Platform for the systematic promotion of priority projects.

Aims for cooperation with Eximbank were outlined. These include expanding financing for major industrial and infrastructure projects and supporting the supply of high-tech equipment.

During the conversation with DFC management, the importance of strengthening investment cooperation mechanisms was emphasized. The corporation’s plans to participate in major national and regional projects, as well as the development of the financial market and energy sector, were supported.

The President of Uzbekistan invited the American side to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

At the end of the meeting, in the presence of the head of our state, an agreement on the creation of an investment platform between Uzbekistan and the United States, signed during the visit, was exchanged.
