President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the heads of the Japanese organizations JOGMEC and ITOCHU, Ichiro Takahara and Jun Inomata, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The parties discussed the further expansion of practical cooperation and the implementation of joint projects using the latest Japanese technologies.
The parties highly commended JOGMEC’s participation in the development of uranium deposits in the Navoi and Kashkadarya regions, along with ITOCHU Corporation. The parties also discussed the companies’ plans for precious metals mining at promising deposits in Uzbekistan’s regions.
Uzbekistan has extensive experience working with ITOCHU Corporation in mechanical engineering, geology, and infrastructure. They welcomed the long-term agreements reached to export critical minerals to Japan.
Particular attention was paid to new areas of cooperation, including projects in water treatment, automotive manufacturing, air traffic control system modernization, and public-private partnership projects in the social sector.
